Get wrapped up in culture in Gorey and North Wexford as Ireland’s Annual Nocturnal Cultural Extravaganza returns on Friday, 20th September from 4:00pm until late.

 

Yoga Gorey, 3 Esmonde Street Lower  -  Join Ruth & Dave from www.yogagorey.iefor 4 X 25 minute Yoga Classes to re-centre and re-energise. All levels welcome. Booking required. Email info@yogagorey.ie or by phone 086 7702841. Classes from 4:00–6:00pm.

Gorey School of Art  -  Free Arts & Crafts, Printmaking, Creative Technology and Film Workshops. Book your place on periphery.space/culture-night-2019.Followed by a film screening in their state-of-the-art art house cinema. From 4:00–7:00pm.

Traditional Archive Channel  -  Seomra Traidisiúnta Workshop at Gorey School of Art from 4:00–6:00pm. This Workshop is an immersive, creative space for children and young people to actively engage in the traditional arts & digital archiving and film & editing technology, all while supporting the Irish language. Suitable for 10 years +. Booking required. Email seomratraidisiunta@gmail.com or by phone 087 704 5961. From 4:00–6:00pm.

Gorey Library  -  Traditional Music from CCE Gorey/Ballygarrett from 4:30–5:30pm.

Gorey Civic Square Pavilion “Big-n-Bold”  -  An evening of lively entertainment from Gorey Pipe Band, Furlong School of Irish Dancing, Pound with Ais, Gorey Ukes and Slavic Group “Circle of Magic White Song” in association with Gorey.pl From 5:30–7:30pm.

Flash Studio Gorey, 1 Main Street  -  During Culture Night every child can become a Pro Photographer and make a portrait of their parents with professional set-up and support in the newly opened “Flash Studio Gorey”, (above Jack and Jill Charity Shop) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Eoin O’Connor – Contemporary Irish Artist  -  Live Painting Demonstration / Open Studio by Eoin O’Connor in his Art Gallery, Esmonde Street, Gorey. From 6:00–9:00pm.

The Book Café  -  Traditional Singer, Rachel Uí Fhaoláín, will host the Ceol Mo Chroí Culture Clubon Oíche Chultúir 2019 with traditional/sean nós song, music, recitations & stories. All welcome. Bígí linn!  Refreshments served from 6:30pm.

Partridges Restaurant & Café  -  "Behind the Scenes" - An exhibition of oil paintings by local artist, Johanna Toole. Cheese & Wine Reception from 6:30pm.

Gorey Visitor Centre, Market House, Gorey  -  An evening of local folklore and music. From 6:00–8:00pm.

Christ Church, Gorey - Willie Willoughby speaks on the history of the church building, the graveyard and the school building. From 7:00pm. 

Christchurch  -  Tá Ceol Mo Chroí Séipéal Sessions ar ais le haghaidh Oíche Chultúir agus beidh taifead déanta de BEO ó Christchurch i nGuaire, Loch Garman. Ceol Mo Chroí Séipéal Sessions return for Oíche Chultúir and will be filmed LIVE from Christchurch i nGuaire, Loch Garman from 9pm - 10pm by the Traditional Archive Channel. Rachel Uí Fhaoláin ó Ceol Mo Chroí and her two children Éire agus Chulainn will present the Séipéal Sessions and will share some sean nós songs, amhráin traidisiúnta agus ceoil along with many talented local traditional singers, musicians and poets to celebrate our Irish language, oral traditions and music in the beautiful intimate surrounds of Christchurch. The community is invited to be part of the audience and enjoy the beautiful acoustics of the live performances in Christchurch. Bígí linn don oíche speisialta seo. This is a free family event but booking is required to ensure the programme runs smoothly on the night. Gorey Art Collective Workshop, Trillium House, St. Michael’s Place – Quick Draw Art in the Open– Create a one of a kind Masterpiece in 90 minutes with the Gorey Art Collective. Doors open at 18.00 with live drawing from 6:30–8:00pm.

Gorey.pl  “Bridging the Cultures”  -  An evening of Musical Street Dialogue on Gorey’s Main Street between Slavic group “Circle of Magic White Song” and traditional Irish music from CC? Gorey/Ballygarrett, with Polish Violinist, Maciej Motyka. From 8:00–9:30pm.

Display of old movie projectors and screening of Polish Film “Cold War” with English subtitles at Gorey School of Art. From 10:00pm.     

French’s Bar, Main Street, Gorey  -  Traditional Music Seisiún from 9:00pm.
