Huntington Castle and Gardens

Huntington Castle was built in 1625 as a garrison on the strategically important Wexford to Dublin route. After 50 years the soldiers moved out and the family began to convert it into a family home.

Garden
The Gardens were mainly laid out in the 1680's by the Esmondes. They feature impressive formal plantings and layouts including the Italian style 'Parterre' or formal gardens, as well the French lime Avenue (planted in 1680) The world famous yew walk is a significant feature which is thought to date to over 500 years old and should not be missed.
Tickets cost €5 per adult and €2.50 per child (this includes entry to the adventure playground)
Playground & Farm
We have recently built a fantastic woodland adventure playground.
It can either be completed as an obstacle course or more often children (and some adults!) will just spend time playing at each different station. The playground features swings, slides, play huts, monkey bars, balance beams, and much more besides. There is also a separate toddler area for the smaller children to play.
Shop & Eat
The tearoom and giftshop features delicious cakes and treats as well as unique and unusual gift and present ideas. We also have a range of pocket money toys for children.
Stay With Us
We offer guests the chance to stay with us in the Castle on a B&B basis or guests can stay in one of our self-catering apartments.
